In 1975, Ian Hendry, affectionately known as ‘Wheels,’ took a leap of faith and opened a humble bike shop in Ocean Grove. This shop quickly became an integral part of the community, with Ian championing and popularizing cycling in the region.
In 1993, Ian passed the bidon to Stephen Draper, who further nurtured the community by opening a second store in Geelong.
In 2024, Hendry’s began a new chapter under the stewardship of Simon Gerrans, one of Australia’s most revered cyclists. Simon’s vision aligns seamlessly with the values that have defined Hendry’s for generations. He is dedicated to supporting cyclists of all levels, fuelling their passions, and ensuring that their two-wheeled adventures are both fulfilling and memorable.
To mark this significant milestone, we will celebrate with a number of events throughout the year. Join us for the ride in 2025.
